Set in a large stone house and surrounded by a safe secluded garden, Forbes Nursery offers secure and loving care for children from three months to five years. The director of the nursery, Therese Duriez, and her family live on the premises and having always been a working mother Therese fully understands the pressures jobs put on family life. The aim of the nursery is to provide your children with a chance to play and learn in a family atmosphere. Above all you can feel confident that they will receive the best possible care.

Hours of opening: 8.00 - 18.00 hrs Monday to Friday inclusive

Open throughout the year except 25th December to 2nd January

Maximum Number of children: 25

The mature secluded garden allows space to run, climb and explore. A range of equipment and surfaces encourages individual initiatives and games under supervision. Nearby are Bruntsfield Links and several play parks for excursions.

Providing your child with

* stimulation as well as love and protection; we encourage each child to develop at its own pace and discover that learning is fun.

* activities include painting, modelling, music, dressing up as well as visits to the shops and the local parks.

* stories to listen to and books to choose for themselves. The children are also encouraged to tell their own stories.

*a varied and healthy diet. Special dietary needs are of course catered for, and suggestions from home are encouraged. We use organically produced food.

* a nursery that is in partnership with local authorities in providing ante-preschool and preschool education.

* a nursery that is a member of Scottish Independant Nurseries Association (SINA) and holds QA certification.
